Questions to ask! 

Are you prepared to enter into a contract and possibly not get the home? How much time do you have?

 

If you are not worried about a rate lock, and not on a moving schedule, this may be an option. Time is money. But not all short sales will take long.... the banks are getting better and with the modification program failing, many home owners loosing their home because they are not able to modify their loan...well the process has already been started.

 

Do you really understand the process? Does your Agent and the Listing Agent have experiences processing them?

 

Why do you need to know how many mortgages are in default, one, two? and what kind of loans they are?

 

Are the Seller/Home Owner in default, cooperating by timely supplying all documents necessary to process the sale?

 

I have processed as a Listing Agent and as a Buyers Agent!
